New Halo Video is Up
It’s been nine months since my first Halo music video, which was “Lost” by mainstream metal band Red (proof that I can indeed still enjoy hardcore Christian metal), and my second video, which has been in the making for two weeks, is now up: “Child’s Play, Pt. 2″ by Norwegian alternative/progressive quartet Green Carnation.
Hopefully you’ll enjoy it; it’s considerably more mellow than the previous one, and is themed around the Master Chief’s struggle on Earth.
Welcome to the Grim Rhapsody
Greetings, and welcome to the Grim Rhapsody.
You’re probably wondering several things at this point; most prominently: what is the “grim rhapsody”? Nothing more or less than what the words imply. You may also be wondering where the content is; I must honestly respond that at this point, there is none, but considering I created the blog only moments ago this is to be expected.
Which leads to the last important query: what is this blog about? The answer is, in practical terms, life, and my opinions on it. ‘But pretty much all weblogs are about opinions on life,’ you digress, and I respond by saying that this opinion on life will hopefully be slightly more interesting and insightful than at least some of those life blogs we know so well.
The fact is, I’m interested in life, the universe, and everything (in more depth than procuring a number to satisfy these three immensely complex subjects). To list the major categories: science, cosmology, philosophy, morality and religion. Theists: this is primarily an atheistic blog, and I am a blatantly-vocal and unapologetic atheist who won’t hold much back. Nevertheless, hopefully you’ll stick around for some of the other stuff, if not for the dedicated atheistic posts.
Posts on the Grim Rhapsody will be separated into five categories:
- Void: Out in the far reaches of space, lost thoughts drift endlessly, never relating and never delving deep. Posts in the Void are announcements (such as this one), notices, and small tidbits.
- Orbit: Thoughts that stray near enough to our world are subtly tempted into elliptical journeys around us, able to observe and note things happening on the surface in small detail. Posts in Orbit are light-hearted observations, musings I need to get down in writing, and humour-based articles.
- Surface: Sometimes, thoughts come crashing down to our world, and it is here where all the action is happening. Posts on the Surface are current events, environmental and political topics, and anything else happening right now, right here.
- Sanctuary: Away from the fast-paced action of human everyday life, thoughts seek solitude in the dwindling sanctuaries, free to be thought. Posts in the Sanctuary deal with science, philosophy, morality and existence in general.
- Core: At the world’s very centre, the long-buried thoughts of ages past rest uneasy. Forced into oblivion by more dangerous thought viruses, these thoughts sometimes rise to the surface. Posts in the Core are the atheist articles, dealing with religion and its innumerable issues. I implore atheists and theists alike to view these posts.
Hope to see you back here in the future.
